gentlemind counselling is your soft place to land to work on yourself without judgement—to look inward to find understanding, acceptance, and resilience. It is a place to heal, to learn, to grow, and to become who you truly deserve to be. It is a place to pause and quiet your heart and mind when you feel overwhelmed or need a moment to reflect.
"A soft place to land" is a figurative expression that describes an environment that is gentle, warm, and supportive, offering comfort and reassurance during times of difficulty. This is a place where people can express themselves freely, feeling heard, validated, and accepted without apprehension of being judged.

Integrative
I provide an integrative approach to counselling which means that I have a range of therapeutic modalities available to use depending on what would be most helpful for you. I understand that this may sound intimidating, but I am here to assist you in understanding your past experiences so that you can better understand your present circumstances and feel empowered to make positive changes in your life.
Some of the modalities I draw upon include CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Compassion Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Mindfulness Practice.

Our sessions are not about me simply giving you quick solutions or me listening to you passively while I take notes. Instead, we will work together collaboratively to help you navigate your mental health journey. This will involve a guided discovery process where we build a relationship that helps you feel comfortable and safe enough to be honest, vulnerable, and curious about your experiences.

It is easy to show compassion to others. But how do we direct this compassion towards ourselves? At the heart of my practice is a deep commitment to building respectful and trustworthy relationship with you through being compassionate and open-minded and use this as a foundation to help you learn to develop self-compassion.
My ultimate goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can find a sense of hope and calm in every interaction. I aim to empower you to build self-esteem, resilience, and achieve positive change that is grounded in compassion for yourself.
